![]() Both Final Fantasy fans and rhythm game fans will find a lot to enjoy about this game. Even when it is noticeable, it offers a leg-up that I don't think rhythm games should have, making it less about skill and more about having a good setup.Īside from a bunch of additional content that feels inconsequential and/or ill-advised, the core gameplay and song selection is excellent. ![]() Outfitting my team with specific moves and items helps a little, but it's often not that noticeable. ![]() Also, while there's a huge amount of content and attention to detail in stages, characters, enemies, abilities, levelling up, items, etc, most of it feels unnecessary. Firstly, while Battle and Field stages are generally great, Event stages feel less precise and are bothersome (although there aren't many, so it's not that bad). There are songs spanning the entire series, from the original Final Fantasy to Lightning Returns, and many spinoffs as well. In general, this game is a lot of fun and offers tons of content. Songs have three different difficulty levels, and Ultimate difficulty is no joke. There's also a quest mode of sorts that lets you choose paths, play semi-random songs, and earn good rewards, often unlocking characters faster in this mode. It has over 200 songs, over 60 characters to unlock, as well as various items and collectacards. Curtain Call is a great rhythm game, and a good follow-up to the original Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.
